An official delegation led by the Director-General and Deputy to the Israeli Minister of Communications Mr. Mordechai Mordechai has visited Hong Kong to take part at the ITU Telecom World 2006 www.itu.int, which was held on 4-8 December 2006 at the AsiaWorld Expo in Hong Kong.

In a program organized by the Consulate General of Israel, the delegation has participated at the ITU Opening Ceremony, Welcome Reception, Opening of the Forum and China Day’s Reception.  Also, the Ministerial Dinner hosted by the HKSAR Government and Mr. Mordechai escorted by the Consul-General Mr. Dan Ben-Eliezer.

Telecom delegation, which composed of 27 leading Israeli companies have exhibited at the ITU Telecom World 2006.  Among them, 16 companies were under the auspices of the Israel National Pavilion, organized by the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute and 11 companies exhibited independently.   Full list of companies as shown below.   The companies have presented the latest  Israel’s technological solutions included: broadband access, VAS for mobile, mobile video, VoIP, service and network management.

The Head of the Israeli Delegation jointly with the Consul-General Mr. Dan Ben-Eliezer officiated the opening of the Israel National Pavilion at the ITU, with a toast of the award-winning Israeli Wines with the Israeli companies and the guests.

Also, at a cocktail reception hosted by Dr. Jonathan Choi, President of Sun Wah Group and Chairman of the China HK Israel Technology Centre, supported by the Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong and Macao, an official delegation and the Israeli companies met with representatives of Hong Kong telecom industry players and business people.
